Mondo’s Oscar Posters Added a Touch of Class
A few days before the ceremony, the folks at Mondo advertised to the press that they would be placing several posters for Oscar-nominated films up for sale during the broadcast of the 85th Annual Academy Awards. They previewed the new collection – their second annual – with posters for The Master, ParaNorman and Les Misérables, with the promise to unveil several more during the Oscar telecast.
Sure enough, the posters are fantastic and unsurprisingly all sold out within minutes. Check out the whole group below:
Killian Eng’s poster for Best Picture winner Argo focused on the fake sci-fi movie that’s at the heart of Ben Affleck’s film:
David Petersen presented a tense confrontation from Best Animated Feature winner Brave:
Mondo presented two different posters for Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay winner Django Unchained, from artists Tyler Stout and Rich Kelly. Each was available in two different color variants:
Tyler Stout
This poster for Best Original Screenplay nominee Moonrise Kingdom is from artist Jay Ryan:
Tom Whalen’s fun image for Best Animated Feature nominee Wreck-It Ralph got the variant treatment:
As did Jock’s evocative imagery for Best Picture nominee Zero Dark Thirty:
You can see the posters for The Master, by Laurent Durieux, Les Misérables, by Olly Moss, and ParaNorman, by DKNG, in our earlier preview.
The Moonrise poster reminds me of something out of O Brother Where Art Thou.
I love the Argo piece. Absolutely brilliant.
