Warner Bros. Settles ‘Hangover’ Tattoo Lawsuit
When tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill sued Warner Bros. over the tattoo on actor Ed Helms‘ face in The Hangover Part II, he sought an injunction against the release of the film. When that proved unsuccessful, Warner Bros. stated their intention to digitally alter the tattoo in the home video release of the film pending ongoing legal action.
But now, the case has been settled. While terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, the alleged copyright infringement of the tattoo Whitmill created for boxer Mike Tyson will no longer plague the release of the film. Warner Bros. will now be able to release the film on DVD in its unaltered state.

They would have had a hard time explaining why some of the story without the tattoo.
Well, as I understand it, the plan was to digitally CHANGE the tattoo; make it look different, not remove it entirely.
I almost wish that they had been forced to alter the tattoo digitally. They could have SO done a Rorsharch thing with Ed Helms. :P
